our first social distanced picnic... for our Munchkin...

The Munchkin who we have loved for
over 7 years now, has a birthday in later May
and we got together for it.
Mr Husband and I on one side of the long table,
Mom of Munchkin and Munchkin on other side of table.
No blowing on cake with candles :( but a candle on Munchkin's
piece of cake at least.
I am so glad we were able to do this.
***
It is so hard and sad, on so many levels.
Not to be allowed to sit normally, not doing the normal things like
blowing out candles, so many things changed.
It's hard.
***
BUT we DID it anyway.
We DID it.
We had a small gathering for the Munchkin, had cake for him,
small gifts (and a nice blue bike helmet coming to his house soon!)
***
And for that I am very glad indeed.

This is wonderful! Human connections are so important - we saw our son and his girlfriend with all the distancing and it was nice!

I'm so glad you were able to find a way to make it work. It's so hard on the kids. Even if they understand it's so hard not to hug.

I'm glad you were able to celebrate the little fellow's birthday in spite of Covid.

What a beautiful picnic - even if it you had to practice some distancing. And the food on the plate looks amazing! You do picnics up nice! :) So glad the munchkin could celebrate his birthday with you two. Sweet memory made during hard time.
