It Was Magical Because I Was Looking for Beauty

Pictures in order of my discovery of this small beautiful lush overgrown green beautiful beautiful green sunshine filled garden .... in between the red brick building (also lovely) and the black fence that left much room for enjoying the flowers, the lush green beautiful flowers of all sizes garden.

I worried about the first trees with so much bark torn off.

I was amazed at the tree full of bends and knobbly, with a huge healed scar of a large part of the tree removed, severed....

The the flowers, of which I took many pictures, trying to capture the beauty I was seeing as I stopped and looked. And looked, and looked...

And the birdfeeder! What an unknown sight in cement city Manhattan! I was charmed, it felt like I stepped right into an Elizabeth Goudge novel where beauty and sprawling gardens are found.

I tell you, this garden, this beautiful not secret garden, instructed me so much... how thankful I felt! How honoureds to see such beauty!

So few really stopped and saw what a beautiful oasis was just to the left of them, as they walked down the street...

And that was the flowers I saw, the garden that most did not look at, not realizing that a microcosm of beauty was there, standing in luxourious waiting... to be seen, savoured, gloried over...

417 Pictures

I walked by an old building in Manhattan that has a beautiful garden in front of its walls, behind it's gate.
I was struck by it.
That you can have such beauty and yet many, most, walk by not seeing it.  And that there could be more gardens like this,
if the persons so choose.
It really spoke to me, every bit of it.

I am in my library in NYC.
Glad to be here.
I had a really good lunch.
This week is going to be busy.
I took a lot of pictures of books today to review later.
It's a new way of speed studying.
LOL.

G-J let me know if you make the plum torte!
I use only 1/2 cup of sugar FYI and no sugar on top...
***
May God have mercy on us!
I pray that you can have a moment of beauty that
surprises you, like I did seeing that beautiful wild garden...
I need to try to share more pictures of it later...
***
May Christ save us!
May we want to be His!

UPDATED: Becki asked about the title.
I forgot to add about it...
I was doing research at my library...
between taking pictures of flowers
and many more of book pages so that
I can have them to look at for later,
I had 417 new pictures taken today...!
I know, crazy....
But I was looking at 4 or 5 books...!

Monday going into Tuesday

One of the first things I knew about today wss that I was dehydrated. I had delicious tea from a friend and promptly had 2 teapots 🫖 full!

My Husband needed some meal spoiling and I fried him up some potatoes 🥔 and onions 🌰 and that was good!

Gretchen Joanna the dessert was the plum torte! Recipe HERE.

I dusted it with a nice layer of cinnamon!

I watched Perry Mason again. It's like my go to comfort food in a way.

Tomorrow I hope to go to NYC and possibly see a friend for dinner...

So I must wind down for sleep!

It wasa special dinner and yes wonderful to celebrate with friends!

May God have mercy on us!

Yesterday's Beauty

Kontakion — Tone 7
On the Mountain You were Transfigured, O Christ God,
 and Your disciples beheld Your glory as far as they could see it;
so that when they would behold You crucified,
they would understand that Your suffering was voluntary,
and would proclaim to the world,
that You are truly
the Radiance of the Father!
