Festive Meal for the Mother of God

Tilapia with sage, lemon juice, pepper & vegan margarine.

A festive meal to celebrate the Mother of God
and her entrance into the temple
when she was three years old.

This is the day that two years ago
my Oma fell asleep in the Lord.

I lit all the lampadas and used our best China to
celebrate the feast and my Oma.

Two wonderful brownie cookies for dessert.
My husband's Mother found these Dutch plates in NJ
years ago when she was visiting him.

We lit lots of candles for dinner to honour how the
Mother of God was brought to the temple
with many Maidens who bore lit candles.
This is a true feast of love and light!
May we all be blessed and warmed by this wonderful Feast!

It's the one year anniversary of my dad's burial as well. I hadn't remembered it was the day your Oma died; I'll remember her with my dad from now on. Memory eternal.

Love to you as your remember your Oma. This is my first holiday season without my grandmother. She died last spring - just a month shy of 98 years old. Thanksgiving was hard. Christmas is getting a bit harder. I miss her terribly. It's comforting for me to see you lovingly remembering your grandmother. xoxo

Thank you Lisa and thank you Katherine, thank you. This is so hard, the first holiday. Not having one's Grandmother is very hard, esp. when we have good ones. {{hugs}} to you too...
