This is how I felt Tuesday night,
after an unexpected trip into NYC with Mr. Husband...
I was really beat!
My beloved Husband bought me lovely flowers!
In time we did, of course, put them in a vase...
That night we went out for delicious Chinese...
I really enjoyed this meal!
Wednesday I was back in NYC...
routine (dentist) ... I was still tired though, having
cleaned Monday, been in NYC much of Tuesday, and so
Mr. Husband and I went out Wednesday night for dinner as well...
This was a really wonderful meal of foraged mushrooms, greens and rice.
I think it was my favourite of the week...really special...
Thursday I finally was home, though I had various things to do,
and we ended up cleaning the garage that day a bit too...
we were meeting a friend for tea after dinner but then he was here earlier,
and so we ended up meeting for dinner at the diner...
making it the 3rd meal out in a row!
Cleo got a bit sick last night and I had to help
clean her... this is her after-the-fact hiding out in her
new favourite bag and giving herself a good bath.
Poor Cleo, it's rough when one has an upset!
Veggie burgers for lunch!
Cleo, happy and quiet...
This was such a satisfying lovely read!
I think it's one of my all time favourites of
the Miss Read books!
I made the NYC Plum Torte today!
It's so good!
I made it for guests we had (a cousin of my Husband and his family) tonight!
It's such a good and simple dessert!
I was waiting to make it all summer!
And we went out for dinner again tonight,
with family ... and then dessert back at our place...
It was simpler to go out for dinner as
it is Friday today and so some of us were fasting,
while others were not.
And I was really tired and not able to pull together a meal for
everyone...
It ended up being a really busy week...
as you can see...
I am looking forward to next Tuesday, as I will be home!
Monday I have to be in NYC again...
not really for fun though, just routine stuff.
I am really wanting to be home...
and swim a bit more before the summer is over...
Tomorrow afternoon DV we go to a friend's baptism of their
baby girl and Sunday we are staying local and it will be nice
to have a bit of a break before Monday...
***
I did make a slow cooker hamburger pasta sauce that is all in fridge now
and much of it will be frozen, and some for next week
(since we are not in the fast yet).
I can't believe I had take-out food Tuesday-Friday. Did not see that coming.
But Tuesday was unexpected, Wednesday thus harder, Thursday schedule changes
and Friday planned!
***
I am glad at least that I have some meals planned for next week...
Pizza Sunday, Pasta other days...and so on...
***
Well, if I don't write again for a bit, it's just a busy time...
May God have mercy on all of us!

Winter in Thrush Green is even better than Thrush Green. I've read all of them and there are only two that I didn't enjoy.
Sounds like you had a busy, but delicious week :) Last week our meals were just sort of thrown together, don't make the house any hotter type food. I'm really missing doing any real cooking.
Eating out is a good thing! :) You are a busy gal. Your house is so pretty and welcoming. I love the Miss Read books! I think I've read most of them, but maybe I need to revisit some of them? I'm typing this from the library, so... ;) God bless!
Looks like you had a fun but busy week Elizabeth. YoYou' such a good cook but sometimes it nice to take a break from the kitchen. Enjoy your weekend, Pat xx
You are good to clean up your kitty so uncomplainingly. :)
