Liturgy for Dormition and a quiet day of blessings

A beautiful liturgy this morning.
I can never get enough of the light and how it brings
such beauty...
A lovely feast for the Mother of God...
We went out for lunch afterwards, also nice!
Got a shipment of two new teas that I am really excited to try!
I got both of these teas for 'free' because of promotional credits due to
my catching and calling about errors....
***
I love our icon of Holy Dormition...
My friend N helped me make it!
(I am not good with cutting strait edges!)...
I've had it for years now, made it in Ottawa...
it's one of my favourites!
I love how the Mother of God gets flowers on her
special feast....
***
We got some CSA surprises too from our friend's CSA share,
plus a flower (in smaller vase) at liturgy...
so a lot of special things....
***
I am trying to focus on our abundant blessings
instead of on our worries.
I am really thankful for this day.

Such a beautiful church you are having! A Holy place to worship.I'm sure you are feeling it as a refuge from the outside world and the crazy ways things go outside the church. I only wish so many people feel like this about the Church!

I think the flowers in the church are one of the Hydrangea family, greeny-white and so elegant.

2016lillies - yes, it is very beautiful! I agree, I wish more people knew what a wonderful refuge the church is!

Elizabeth - yes, thank you!

Elizabethd - yes, I think so - I am sure our local priest's wife did them - and in such beautiful matching vases - wonderful show of love and beauty for the Mother of God!
