Beauty in these days....

I've been so grateful this winter
for all the sunshine we have had.
It's been a huge blessing.
Another thing I am so thankful for,
and that adds daily beauty to my life,
is the kindness of Mr. Husband.
We do a load of dishes in the dishwasher
at night and often in the morning he will put the
still-wet-but-clean dishes in the dish rack for me.
I had used my blue and white dishes
as I was feeling the need to be festive
during these days of Great Lent.
I am thankful for these beautiful
ordinary days.

love your dishes!! You have such pretty lighting in your space, I wish sometimes I had more direct light :)

Your house is so lovely. I miss big windows. Your living room looks like the perfect place to curl up in the sunshine and knit the day away :)

thanks Karen! the light is one of the biggest features of our home! the one thing I miss is a window over the kitchen sink! We hope to put in some simple lighting in the kitchen to help with this! :)

thanks Paula, ironically I rarely knit at home, mostly in ride to church in car! Sigh. Just too much to do!

Hi Elizabeth! Love your blue dishes :) Just wanted to let you know that I am coming to NYC the week after Easter. However, I feel that I need to keep this visit as simple as possible and focus on resting and relaxing so I think we better not meet up on this visit. :( However, maybe it might work out sometime in the future!!

That bay window area is just so cozy and cheery at the same time. :)

(And we have blue willow too. ;) )

We didn't have a window over our MD kitchen sink and I put a mirror there. I wasn't actually looking at myself all the time... It just made the area feel brighter---similar to how a window does. The one down side was keeping it clean:)

Hi Amy,

That's a nice solution! I think we are going to use some lighting to brighten things up and I have my pretty shelf with some blue delft and other pieces. :)
