Being Kind...

Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle.
— Philo of Alexandria
One of the hardest things for me
other than
an unknown future
what many many people in North America
struggle with.
Mothers alone with their young children
Men and women in jobs,
overworked and isolated
the poor begging on the street:
so many are alone
I struggle with this a lot.
Where I am in is full of ironies.
I dream of volunteering, but either am learning a new job,
which is very tiring,
or I am waiting to know what my next job is,
and feel that I cannot commit or would not want to start something
that I cannot continue.
Perhaps my thinking to some will seem faulty
but it is how things feel to me.
I am thankful that today I can go to good friends house
and work on job searching
while they work on various projects around the house.

Praying for you as you determine what you are going to do. Times of transition are always so stressful. Enjoy time with your friend.

Thank you for your prayers Michelle. I appreciate you!

Nothing faulty about that, just an honest assessment of your situation. It seems to me that you are doing the best you can, even in this time of much uncertainty.

With continued prayers that God's direction for you will be revealed. Hugs.

hang in there. that's a beautiful quote. i think my mom has it on a book mark she's had for years. i had no idea the dear words were from a saint.

Hi Lauren,

Thanks. Yes it is such a good quote.

FYI - I do not know if this one was a saint though -

Thanks so much for your comment. I really appreciate you!

I've spent a good deal of my life being lonely. In fact, I was just thinking about it today (again)... how I spend a full day without a single call.

I think Philo was a Jewish Philosopher not a saint.

Yes... loneliness seems to be a plight that many face through out their lives... you and I both.

I agree with your assessment of Philo.

Thanks for your comment Deb.
