A Special Monday Event

I wore one of my best dresses
(deep pink and red flowers, white background)...
I am understanding the Subway system a lot better...
I had my white hat in my satchel,
my white sandals...
I felt like I was pretending to be an young lady who is an old school New Yorker
from a bygone era I guess you would say...
I forgot to bring lipstick
(I actually only rarely wear makeup, big church feasts like Christmas, Pascha
and events that are more professional in nature) and bought some very light pink
in NYC (it will last me years) at a drug store and
I had a burger at a vintage luncheonette before going to the
Subscription NYC library event...
Mr Husband met me there...
it was nice...
Of course I can't fully pretend that I was in a dream...
but I hope that, overall, good will come of my being there...
***
Tomorrow I am having a friend over for tea, a luncheon...
so I better get going to sleep so I have energy for the nice things
that I hope tomorrow brings...
***
May God have mercy on us all.
We all have sad, confusing, difficult things to face
and that we are facing and
I pray that the Lord will have mercy on us.

What a LOVELY day! It's fun to be able to have something nice to go to, wear one's good dress and all of that... So glad you had such a sweet day! I almost never wear makeup either, so when I do it's feels strange... and I can't wait to get home and take it off... haha! Hope your tea with your friend is another lovely time. :) God Bless you, my friend ((HUGS))

You seem to have a gift for turning lots of things into special events. Even the way you cook and set your table. And you find the coolest places to eat out! I hope your tea was fun. Yes, so many needing prayers. I'll be praying for you and your hubby. :)

Sounds like you had a perfect day! How fun. I too, don't wear make up except for some tinted face cream and lipstick. My lipstick usually lasts over a year. Enjoy your day dear Elizabeth. šŸ’
