Our Goddaughter's Baptism

All photos from
a dear friend of both of our families.

Dress from one of the Grandmother's.

Communion bib and socks a gift from a friend
of the parent's.

So young our baby goddaughter and
already having one of the most important events of her life.

She wore booties that my Oma had knitted
years ago and I had saved...

Candles.

The baptism font is ready...

It was a beautiful baptism.

The Matushka made the candles
with white beeswax.

Icons of our godaugther's Saint and the Mother of God.

Mr. Husband and I got the icons of
our goddaughter's Saint from Russia.

The icon of the Mother of God
is from a dear friend, from a monastery overseas.
These icons were blessed right after the
baptism and chrismation.
I always give my god children right to the
Mother of God to raise and
to have this small and lovely icon right there
and for me to pray always for my
 goddaughter was very meaningful.

We had a blanket made by an expert on such things and

 Surrounded with signs of love...

The reception afterwards was lovely.
A good friend
(who also took all these pictures) provided the
baby's baptismal favours,
two beeswax candles each....

We brought the cheesecakes.

 Wine and Juice was served.

Organic strawberries and some GF treats that
we also brought.

It was a lovely day and it was so exciting
the next day to hold my goddaughter as she had
her first communion!
*
Thanking God for all of these blessings!
