Yarn along with Baby Slippers and 6 O'Clock Dinner Rolls

My baby slippers are coming along!

I am now at the point where I need
to knit the toe section on both!
I hope to be done by next week if all goes well!
*
Ravelry here.
*
About what I am reading...

I realized that I had not yet made anything
from a really neat small cookbook
that my Grandma had given me;
it was printed in 1934 and is a real gem!
*
I will have to post more about the cookbook itself
later on!

I am thinking of making these rolls tomorrow,
for us to enjoy during butter week!
*
{In my Lenten church traditions we fast from
meat and dairy as health permits
and this week we are done with eating meat
but will enjoy dairy all week!}
*
Back to the cookbook...

It is a neat cookbook also as it was
made by a church and has
Scripture verses at the bottom of each page!
It's a real treasure!
*
It is such a joy to be part of the yarn along
with Ginny!
Do come with us and tell us what you are creating
and reading!

Cannot wait to see your slippers all finished up! Such a pretty blue dish, and the cookbook sounds like a gem. Happy baking! :)

Such cute slippers. I have made several pairs in child size and it's a great pattern. Those dinner rolls sound delicious!

You have inspired me to pull my own old cookbook off the shelf and look through it with an eye to meal-planning ...! Lovely slippers. :)

The slippers are cute.

The Lenten fast is voluntary for Anglicans, and farmers have always been exempt. Poor Colin would fall over if I took away his meat and dairy. We try to find other things to give up. This year I'm giving up pop. I drink far too much and this will be good motivation.

Love it all! I have copies of both my mother's and Mother in law's American Woman's Cookbook published in the 40's or 50's. I was looking through it just the other day. I may have to see if they have those rolls!

I like the way your slippers are coming. I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. I have a few old cookbooks also.... some from churches and schools. It is fun to try some of the older recipes.
