I knew it was coming...

It's now official.
Our dear friends and parents of our goddaughter are moving
far away from here.
I had such hopes that I would have my godchild near by
and that I would be able to be in her life on a weekly basis...
As Mr. Husband pointed out,
I was collecting books already for her...
So of course pray for this family as they move and it's a huge big deal but
we hope ultimately better for them.
But if you could remember me in prayer also,
I'd greatly appreciate it.
We will be grieving their loss here....

Oh, dear friend, that is a sad parting indeed. But do not forget that you can strongly uphold and protect your god-daughter by your prayers, especially with the Akathist to the Theotokos, Nurturer of Children xx

I'm sorry, that's very hard. :(

I don't have any wonderful words of wisdom, just ((hugs)).

Oh Elizabeth, I'm sorry. My goddaughter moved far away too. But you can still be involved. She'll know she's loved even from a distance. It's hard when they are so far away, but where there is love there is no distance. Hugs!

This is how I fee about my grandchildren....it makes us realize how crucial prayer is! God bless you, dear sister.

I'm sorry Elizabeth. It's's tough to be away from those we love but the Church encompasses and we can remain united in prayer and through the sacraments. Hugs being sent your way!

OH how sad. I hope you can skype and keep a relationship going over the internet. I was always the one who moved away when we were raising the kids.

I'm sorry for you - but your prayers will keep her close to you, and you to her. :)

This happened to us, too, when our beloved Godson moved. Write and call. Children love to receive mail. Ask about Sunday school and church in new home. Give her a flashlight in case she is afraid at night in her new home and a special icon perhaps of a Saint you have discussed together. Make sure she has your telephone number so she can call you.

oh that will be a difficult parting, I will certainly pray for all involved. My husband and I moved from Pennsylvania to Vermont over 10 years ago-by choice and with no kids yet!- and it was still so difficult to say goodbye to those we loved, even though it was for the best.

Thank you too for your kind words Elizabeth, about Grandad :)

enjoy this amazing season!!!!

I'm sorry for you. I know it must be hard to separate with your goddaughter. My godmother lives in other country, but we still try to communicate with each other.
