The Mother of God in the Crypt of the Basilica to St Willibrord,

I could not begin to capture how beautiful the Mother of God's face was
in this underground small hidden chapel, near the tomb
of St. Willibrord, in his crypt.
***
It reminded me very much of the Elizabeth Goudge comment about one
of her characters, a boy, who, in the times that the Catholics were
persecuted, came across a hidden underground chapel
and saw a beautiful statue of the Mother of God
and for the rest of his life,
it was the hidden centre and axis of his life.

I used to have a Fatima statue exactly like that! It really was too large, but I gave it to a friend.
