Nativity Fast Day 4 and 5

Tree in my Oma's Complex.

Today my dear friend whose

young infant I am godmother to

and I and godbaby are going to have an early lunch.

I am going to pack for home

as I fly out tomorrow around noon,

God willing.

I am also going to try to work on my proposal.

I am very tired

but am trying to put one foot in front of the other

and trust God with everything.

Of course my Oma who is still in

hospital,

waiting further medical assessment

and on morphine

is on my mind.

Also Noah who continues to struggle

and our dear friend Mat. Anna

May God be our ever refuge, shelter and

support.

Edging towards the week's end

far from home, please keep praying for them.

*

I am in grief about a friend's struggles.

*

I saw my job coach today.

It was good.

But I can see that this may take a long time.

And I will be gone for the first half of December and then the second half is

n.c. Christmas etc so really

it is very possible that it will be in January before something job-wise lines up.

Of course we never know.

I am okay for money for now.

Lots of continued lessons in trusting God.

*

For the first time I am listening to the music that

I listened to a lot when I was working in my

last job.

*

I am grateful to God for His salvation and

for prayer.

Without our Heavenly Father,

the Saints and our church families,

I can't imagine

making it through.

Prayers

One of my dear friends who I have asked

prayers for is continuing to struggle

in a very grave situation.

Another friend and I are going to pray tonight

for many,

including Noah and my friend and others.

Lord have mercy and save us!

Happy Canada Day

The Queen will be here in Ottawa tomorrow.
Though I like the Queen,
I really don't like crowds.
So I will be happy that she is here,
but I will stay home with Cleo and study.
*
A dear friend learned of an illness of a family member.
This is always hard.
*
I am studying French but have to keep working at it.
Need much mercy from God.
*
I may have the test in just over two weeks.
*
Wishing everyone in North America either a
happy and safe Canada day
or a happy and safe 4th.
*
Christ is in our midst!

Thoughts and Prayers

I feel incredibly blessed by God
and my blog community.
We must never take anything we have been given lightly.
This is something I am seeing more and more of,
the need for vigilance in all things -
may we all be vigilant in all things,
including our wonderful community.
I have been thinking about a friend I love deeply
who is really struggling right now...
How to be a friend long distance
(I have friends coast-to-coast)
and still be a support.
Of course the biggest support is prayer
and this I must do.
If you could say a prayer today for my friend,
I would treasure this for her.
***
When you have friends far away
what do you do to show your love and support?
***
Thank God we have friends in the Saints,
as Frederica Mathewes-Green writes
about in her book on the Canon to Saint Andrew ...
we are not alone,
God, the Mother of God (our Lord Jesus Christ) and the Saints are with us.
***
I am gearing up for my second final exam
(each of my classes are 6 weeks)
which will be this coming Monday.
I have a lot of work to do yet,
but am feeling hopeful about it.
***
May God give us more deeply in our hearts
the Hope from and in Christ's Resurrection!
Christ is Risen!

God's mercy and the glory of His Creation

Now the "green light" of having a new apartment is here.

I am relieved and feel very good about this apartment.

It has a kitchen,

a living room that I am going to use as a dining room,

and a good sized bedroom that I am going to partition

off as a bedroom / sitting room / prayer room.

I am allowed to paint it.

Green and blue walls will be continued,

with the help of friends

(who I have yet to ask... :) ).

We have been blessed with some unexpected

glorious sunshine.

Now I will have to figure out what kind of part time job to apply for.

French is going to take a lot of time and energy,

so I need a non-taxing very part time job.

With God as my helper,
I will seek to continue.
Meanwhile, I am praying for a good friend's Mother
who is having serious surgery this evening.
Please pray for my friend's Mother.

Mercy

I was working a bit late today - as usual it seems now days - when my cell phone rang. Dear friends of mine invited me to dinner and picked me up from home. I was so exhausted it was wonderful to be fed good food and be dropped off later at a local grocery store so I could buy the last ingredients for soup.

I made the soup. I have called my Mother to say hi. I have read my blogs and did no homework. I am grateful; need to work on coursework tomorrow. Work continues to be a challenge.

Found out that one my fellow librarian friend's job contract is ending in two months. Sometimes I still feel afraid that I will also lose my job.

I am trying to not be afraid and to trust in God's abundant mercy.

Thanking God for Fr. Stephen's reminder that week two of Lent is a bit less arduous.

I am tired. This time change is good (more light) but hard (going to bed on time).

May God have mercy on us.

Peter

Peter is now in intensive care.

As emailed to me and others, "His surgery ended up being a quadruple bypass, so was somewhat more serious than anticipated, and this is probably why his recovery is a little slower."

Please keep praying for him. He is a dear friend, a retired librarian and part of my Church's choir. We need him around.

Thank you for your prayers.

Prayer Request Continued

Peter's surgery was postponed until tomorrow. Please continue to pray for him!

Thank you from my heart.
