Bright Friday

Some friends got together at my house.

*

Together we assembled an Italian meal

Pasta with meat sauce

Cesar Salad

Garlic Bread

and, as it was for a very festive meal,

Baked Brie with cranberries and walnuts

eaten with sliced baguette.

Music was played.

After the meal

a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream was enjoyed.

*

I am grateful for friends to share the feasts with.

*

This week will include various job searching activities.

I feel overwhelmed by it to be honest.

Am seeking the Lord's help.

*

What does you week hold for you?

Anything beautiful? overwhelming? new?

Bright Thursday

Christ is Risen!

*

Above is my new Pascha icon of the Resurrection...

I made the icon as I did not have an icon of the

Resurrection that was not wallet sized...

It was blessed after Agape vespers

and was in the Altar area

on Pascha.

I am having a Pascha dinner party

tomorrow

on Bright Friday

the Feast of the Life Giving Springs.

*

It is going to be a fairly traditional Italian meal.

*

I look forward God willing to singing Christ is Risen

tomorrow at the dinner...

Cleo was watching outside again today;

it stormed and now is sunny;

typical Ottawa spring.

*

I have more job things to do.

Went to IKEA;

they are building a new IKEA here;

we are going from the smallest IKEA in Canada

to the largest.

*

I got some nice new tall taper candles

and restocked on tea lights.

*

Give us our daily bread

*

God has blessed me;

I am seeing again how I do not have to worry about the future;

keep looking for jobs;

the biggest challenge is to stay faithful and energized

in my search.

*

God will not leave us.

Two weeks goes so quickly

Wow.
My two weeks "off" from school are almost gone.
Tomorrow my friend, her two young boys
and I
hope to go to the monastery.
***
I had my Pascha Party.
Cleo did not want to be left out!

Notice my new IKEA 365 dessert tray?

I have been waiting at least 8 years

to have a three-tiered tea tray.

***

Finally, this week, the tray was in stock!

I really love giving dinner parties.

I wish I could do it once a week!

Eating with friends with a beautiful table setting

and tall candles,

talking about a myriad of things,

is such a treat.

And one of the guests brought his violin and treated us

to some beautiful music.

I am already thinking of an after Pentecost dinner party!

The flowers are out!
I hope to take lots of pictures again this summer.
I really love creating beauty,
whether in a good dinner party,
photos I share here
or by going on a walk with a friend...
***
I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed about French
and that by the end of the summer,
I will be needing a job...
***
Am trying to do the best I can,
make the best decisions possible and
live in the present,
trusting God with my life now
and in the days to come.

Happy Things

On Bright Monday I had a small Pascha Party.
It was very lovely and I appreciate
all who came.
It was a dream come true to have this party.
(Notice the Ikea White bowl setting - was for a precious 2 year old!)
On other positive notes:
1. I will get some money back from taxes. This is good given my current non-job status.
2. I got an A- in my library course! (Thanks for all prayers and encouragment).
3. I think I have almost all of my errands done -
this means I can start really studying for my class.
I admit that I am a bit anxious
about the course I plan on taking.
One thing at a time...
