(138) Cleaned Up (on the 5th day of Christmas)

Another picture from last night.
Everything is washed and put back now.
I had some birthday money and bought some
Godiva chocolate; crazy really, given how much
food we were given this Christmas but at the same time,
I am using the birthday Godiva chocolate DV for at least 2
future meal events and am so excited for that.
This coming week is the first week that is not as busy
as the past month+!
***
I am going to try get some good rest this week,
it will help me with the unbloggable and I feel that some
progress is being made but I also feel that some challenges in life
take a while to sort themselves out.
***
I've been listening to this, much of it is not recognizable as
traditional Christmas music or even faithful to the story of Christmas,
but it's been helping me this Christmas...
and yesterday our CD player broke so all my Christmas CDs are currently
unusable...

full CD is here:

May God help and save us all.

The 5th Day of Christmas ~ a lovely Christmas Dinner with dear friends

We had a lovely dinner tonight!
Our Munchkin and his Mom came over for dinner!
You should of saw how excited he was to get his gifts, esp the baseball glove.
He also liked a squishy 'blob' ball and we got him 2 Mad Libs, and did 2 of them,
both about Christmas.
The second one was to the tune of 'deck the halls' and by then our Munchkin was falling
asleep so I read it out loud with singing and hammed it up :)
He guess rightly about both Mad Libs; we have gotten them for him various times
so that was really fun!
The Turkey Casserole returned again for this dinner and was enjoyed by all.
The Munchkin asked for seconds, as did everyone else :)
I love so much the reflection in the window of the lights...
I made sure the blinds were all the way up...
Today was a really busy day.
I did online errands, got groceries delivered and put away,
had a bookshelf (a folding one, pre-assembled) delivered and I opened it,
put it up, moved the other one, taking all books off of it, and got
a bunch of books from the library for it and now there are kids books,
Fairy Tales, stories and novels (kid and YA) on this...
Here's how it looks now...

I am really pleased with it.
That was a big job to do before the dinner prep!
But it all got done and the food was pretty much ready when
it was supposed to.
We got a darling gift from Mr Husband's parents,
my beloved parents-in-law,
it has many treats in it!
I can't wait to enjoy it!!!

I love it and hope to use it again for decoration!
We have so many treats again this Christmas!
I am really grateful!
I called my Mother-in-law and she said she hoped we would
enjoy the treats and perhaps have a stay-at-home movie date night
and enjoy them!
That sounds like a very good plan to me.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day again.
I am, for all the treats we were given, doing my best to
not overdo it with sugar; I know that with all the sickness going around,
it's best to be careful; I am having some elderberry syrup most days as well...
I am so thankful that thus far, we are still in good health and not
sick with the flu, etc.
May God help us all!

On the 5th day of Christmas...

Popping in here quickly,
this day has been so full!
House is cleaned.
I feel better about the whole dishes love thing.
I think I will always be dealing with this.
I have a whole list of things I wish do to but
am learning that it is OK to not have them all happen.
God bless each and every one of you!

4th & 5th day of Christmas

The above pictures were from day 4.
It was a day of various phone calls and rest...
it's a blessing that we have such nice food to eat
via our grocery delivery service;
I just love the chicken and mashed potatoes!
I had a 60% cocao one square sized treat from our
tower of sweets from Mr Husband's parents,
and it was so very enjoyable,
the best chocolate I've had this week I think.
We watched a Walton's episode again and
did prayers together, ... lots of rest and trying to recover.
On to day 5...

Day 5 was another good, quiet day.
I felt good when I awoke, the sun was shining brightly and it was only 8:30
in the morning (I had been sleeping in till close to 10! the flu will do that!)
I felt so much better, I had hopes of doing a bit more that day.
I was able to do two things extra:
I lit all the livingroom lampadas and I collapsed many boxes that I no
longer had need of.
I also ended up taking a nap in the afternoon, I was suddenly so tired
and I was actually more congested towards evening again.
We had enjoyable meals, I had I think 6 different types of tea!
(Green, black with chili and mango, African Autumn, Ginger Lemon and Gypsy Cold Care).
It was a real drink-all-the-teas day.
Actually between gifts I have been given, teas I have bought and teas I have
made mixes of, I do have a pretty large collection of teas.
It's fun and I love having so many choices also to offer others!
I also got a new teapot lid holder/drip catcher via amazon; so far so good!
We also watched another episode of the Walton's and I made extra popcorn
so I could have some tomorrow without the fuss of making it again.
We are enjoying the very last of the pate also.
I was able to a potluck spreadsheet for help
for my belated 40th birthday party
and that is giving me something to look forward to
as we recover.
Mr Husband is seeing the doctor on Friday,
please pray for this.
He has a long way to go yet, longer than myself I fear.
I admit I was getting a bit stir crazy earlier today,
it's been over a week since I got sick,
I am gaining but slowly and I am not well enough really to leave the house
(esp as it was so cold) and it gets a bit 'cabin fever' but not too bad.
I find that taking pictures of my day and varying things
like what treat I get that day, what teas I want to have, what I am reading,
they bring a difference into the convalescence house-bound time.
My quilting-friend DV is coming Friday to keep me company
and help me with somethings
while Mr Husband has his appointment.
So I am looking forward to this as well.
I am finding that if I focus my mind on thanksgiving for the
many, many blessings I have,
then I see how good it is right now
and what a blessing it is to be with my Husband
and how wonderful a piece of chocolate or a cup of tea is.
Well, time to rest again now.
I am thankful for day 4 and 5 of the 12 days of Christmas!
