Cleo aka my shadow

This post is dedicated to

Cleo is my every present shadow,

interested in whatever I seem to be closest to.

Inspecting the newly cleaned bathtub for instance.

And she wonders why it is always being cleaned,

sigh.

She watched me iron my clothes for today's interview

but did not offer to help.

Consider the amount of delinting/furring I do

for such clothes,

it is probably good that she does not wish to take over

the ironing duties,

such as they are.

She is especially happy when I return home

and loves balancing on tops of chairs.

And that is what Cleo is up to... :)

(other than begging me to travel with her across the ocean

to meet such cats such as Miss Tilney, Miss Darcy and their

non-cat Big Sister

who she has grown quite fond of through

Miss Tilney's reports).

Canada Day 2011 includes...

I have family visiting

for the long weekend this weekend

and so I found out via my cousin

that Prince William and his Bride Kate

Two thoughts about this:

1. It is kind of cool, royalty and all

2. Did I mention that I live downtown Ottawa?

The crowds, my friends, the crowds.

Cleo thinks I should be focused on the important things

of life,

like the fact that she is a princess and is waiting for her milk.

Cleo, still the cutest cat in Canada (she told me herself you know and cats don't lie, she assured me)

Cleo, in the corner of the gold chair,
being furry and beautiful.

Clearly Cleo has found the door to summer.

Notice the tail wag.

Cleo did not feel like blogging.

Love the chair coverings?

Tres belle, n'est pas?

After spilling for the umpteenth time on my

ivory colour chair coverings,

they are done being washed and air drying on racks.

Cleo of course had to sit on the chairs

with towels draped on them.

Of course Cleo is the reason the towels are on them:

What Qualifies As Excitment Around Here

4 birds came to visit us on the 8th floor today!

Cleo had no idea,

so after spying the birds,

I took Cleo over to the gold chair...

She became Cleo the Huntress.

Forget cute meowing.

Hiss and more hiss, growl and furious tail wagging ensued.

The birds,
if they can hear through the glass,
acted oblivious to Cleo's antics
and calmly flew away
(see the one about to dive off?)
with the beautiful white feathers
pluming in the descent.

Cleo the Beautiful

Cleo loves looking outside...

My blue-eyed beauty.

She is alway looking at something...
or trying to play a game
or beg for my food.
I have a good cat and I thank God for her.

Blessed Feast Day

Someone is playing opera loud

and it is lovely.

The weather is cool right now,

but I hear rumours of another heat wave.

Liturgy was lovely this morning.

My priest has white vestments with hand embroidered

grapes on them.

It is one of my favourite of his vestments,

the whole day was beautiful,

starting with vespers last night.

Seeing the sunlight in the altar, with incense;

hearing the Troparion for the feast;

the blessing of wine, wheat and oil;

being anointed with gladness;

eating the bread with wine;

liturgy today;

church family;

the blessing of fruit...

I could not resist adding a Cleo Picture.
Blessed evening to all!

Paws Off

So one of my Dad's sayings is 'get your paws off (whatever it is)'. One of his endearing loving sayings that I enjoy.

So I was washing dishes tonight and there was my Cleo Cat, who has learned about how to explore my new dining room table (the chairs are more conducive to Cleo climbing, much to her delight).

Imagine my surprise when I heard myself say, "Cleo, get your paws off the table!" and realize I had literally just told a Cat to get her front paws off the table.

Anyway. I was amused and thought I would share. My cat really is sweet company for me! I am thankful.

How I do homework

A little at a time. Today I am finishing up my first assignment - really not too bad - just three questions, two pages worth of writing. I do have to learn how to be a librarian in the corporate field.

My work is going better, but I think we are going to have a very significant library project to do in about two weeks. I may be working the whole weekend, save when I am in Church. It is a one time only project, and that is how it is. But I am trying not to worry about it.

It was funny - I got the Protestant sweet Sunday school song in my head when I was walking back home after lunch (yes, I get to walk home for lunch!) this is the day that the Lord has made, we must rejoice and be glad in it. And it was exactly what I needed to do!

Anyway. I really do have to finish up the assignment so I can email it in to the prof. today.

First though - isn't this one of the cutest new pictures of Cleo my cat???

She loves sitting on my new dining room chairs. I notice that she sits esp. on the two I sit in the most - one for eating, and the other side of the table for blogging (or, um, I mean doing homework).

And here she is, surprising me by looking over the back of the chair ...
