which right now is lots of unpacking...

I did some epic-for-me unpacking yesterday...

at least 15 boxes and moving many books.

Today I did a fairly substantial re-org of our

master bedroom closet and our bedroom 

is more and more chaos-free.

*

I knew that I would have to plunge right in

to my new life as well:

last night I went to Bible study at my local church 

and then out to eat with friend from book club;

this morning I went swimming with a dear friend

at 8 am at our local pool.

Very refreshing and lovely!

*

We hope in the days, 

other than to celebrate the glorious feast of Pentecost,

to go to various stores, including IKEA,

for things we would like for our new home.

So I've also been busy getting the library ready for this.

Still have miles to go but at least we got the following done!

*

We used another lovely Cross that

we were given as a soon-after the wedding gift

since we still cannot find the one that we used

last time for our prayer stand corner.

*

Mr. Husband and I put this together just before lunch;

I did the actual set up but could not of done it without him!

This prayer stand was the wedding gift of many people,

including family...it is handmade by a priest in the States.

These are our wedding icons.

And the Rushnyk is the one we were hand-tied with in our 

wedding.

I really love it now that it is all set up!

We are still figuring books and where to fit them, etc.

Books nearest to prayer stand are 

many of our Orthodox books...

Yesterday I put in an order for more

books via Ancient Faith Publishing

for a summer book sale at our far-away church!

*

I can't wait to actually have our house in better order

to actually use our library to read in.

My 'rule' for myself in the new place

is that the bedroom and library/chapel/guest room 

is that no electronics (smart phone, computer) are entering.

I am so excited thus for some peaceful spaces in our home

where quietness can reign!

*

I am excited for the Feast of Pentecost and that

we can be so blessed and comforted by this glorious feast!

Another step: lighting first lampadas in new home

Saturday night I got out 5 of our lampadas 

and lit them by the icons I have found

thus far.

*

It is good to have their light in this new home.

*

Today is the beginning of the rest of our time in our new home;

my parents are safely back home, Mr. Husband took a new

route to work this morning for the first time;

I can't find my camera battery charger.

That's the worst for me, which is not that bad considering 

the state of things world-wide.

*

We got the roll-up blackout shades in cream

and some were cut wrong and don't fit the windows.

*

We had a wonderful impromptu dinner at our dear friend's home

last night... they are a mere 5 minute walk away!

*

The things to do are so much that I am not even bothering with a list.

*

Mr. Husband gave me this book late Saturday night....

after we realized we left the cheese we bought at the store register,

the blinds did not all work and I was so tired.

*

I miss my parents but am so thankful that they were here;

they helped so much.

*

My laundry is piling up and that is going to be one of the main tasks for today.

That and hoping to find my camera battery charger.

Unpacking more boxes.

Calling my Grandma ~ it's her birthday today.

First 'Real' Dinner in our New Home ~ Little by Little, Bit by Bit!

Some order is finally prevailing... many more boxes but we are making

true and real progress! 

I don't know where my icons are! I remember packing them...

we have about 5 more boxes marked fragile in our

master bedroom closet... :)

I was able to find the icons that were on the window sill

of our old place...I tried to recreated this a bit

as I did love that space!

We kept the table small (the one leaf is under the table)

and so used our almost-island counter for the food...

Thankfully there is a diner near by that has really good food

for great prices and portions that equal minimum of two meals

per meal! New Jersey, as Mr. Husband says, is a 'diner state' :).

Well, we are tired but loving our new home.

*

My parents started their trip back to Michigan today....

It was such a good visit...

Everywhere I look, I see my Dad's work...

yesterday he fixed the light switches in our bathroom...

now our second light and fan works... and he hung

towel bars in the bathrooms, a hook on the door...

he spent time researching our dishwasher,

which we think we will have to replace sadly,

but Dad saved us a bill in trying to find out if it could be fixed!

I unpacked all our breakable dishes and glassware I think now...

we have to figure out pantry options yet for shelving,

so I can unpack all of that...

*

Lots of laughter, talks and teasing Cleo went on and lots of meals

at the local diner; it was a truly blessed time and one 

I thank God for!

Now we are praying for a safe trip home for 

my parents and that they can visit us here again

in the future!
