Blue Scarf, Learning and Reading

A new blue scarf is in the works!
This is for one of my nieces for Christmas.

It is knitting up nicely.
Ravelry here.

I am slowly teaching myself how to purl.
A very simple thing for most people.
Had a great discussion via my blog and FB
on what I did wrong...

I have not frogged this row back yet
but see that most likely I knitted two rows of
the knit stitch...

Am also learning how stockinette is only flat,
as it were,
on one side of things.

I am reading this book on with some beautiful
patterns to inspire me to further learning!
Sometimes the beginning of things is the most
exciting and I am so glad to be
continuing on in my knitting journey :)

I am also reading
With Pain and Love for Contemporary Man by Elder Paisios
that is wonderful.  I wrote about this book here.

What are you reading and creating?

A quiet day

I am almost done with
the green scarf.
Fish is cooking in the oven
as today is a
fish day for St. Nicholas.
I ordered some more yarn got and
an email that it has shipped.
I am hoping that I will get it soon
so I can finish the
Easter Baby Blanket.
This book title got my attention today.
I am thinking that I need to get a library card soon.
I am on the last part of Everyday Saints
and am putting off reading it quickly
as I, as many others have said,
will be sad when it is done.
I am loving the blog community and
the new bloggers I am meeting through
Ginny's Yarn Along.
At the same time,
I am aware of needing to balance
my time a bit better
and read more, etc.
I have begun re-reading Courage to Pray
I am still tired but am able to do some things.
Now I just have to try not to over do it.
I think tomorrow I will seek to have an extra restful day,
as today was a bit tiring...
I know I am so blessed to be able to rest.
What is your day turning out to be like?
