New Office Nook

Earlier I blogged about wishing

for a closet desk nook for myself.

During my father and mother in law's visit 

my father in law made this dream reality! :)

*

I will have to put up all the pictures/icons that I wish to have

but I am loving the space already!

Irony... :)... and more on the day and paint colours

On the day I post my thoughts on

prayer and silence,

I am listening continuously to my Ottawa's church CD

while the packer and I pack up the house!

*

We should have most of it packed by the end of the day...

just some things in the office will be left!

To quickly answer Paula's question...

the woodlawn blue 

does have grey in it and depending on the light and

the angle of a computer screen,

it would look more hard and grey; 

it is actually so many things, it's a very lovely colour;

it has a tint of a blue-green, like an opal, it's a lovely blue 

but it does indeed have grey in it; my Dad and I discussed that

and when it was wet it looked very grey!

The bathrooms DV will actually have wedgewood grey

which also is a blue-green with grey...

*

Well, I've packed at least 10 more boxes and the packer

has done a good number also, at least 10 by now...

lots of dishes!

Woosh! ~ Day 2 and 3

The library/chapel/guest room is painted now!

It looks so beautiful!

My Dad painted the master bedroom as well...

we are so glad to have these colours...

the woodlawn blue is really beautiful!

My Dad paints the corners first and then rolls paint on after this.

It is really really lovely and peaceful!

Today my Dad also painted all the doors... you can see

that the doors were needing a fresh bright coat of white!

After tons of uncertainty about moving our 

library before the rest,

the move happened this morning at 7 AM and they were done,

moved to our new home and the bookshelves

set in the right place by 9 AM!

These four men worked so hard! 

Some of them had 4 boxes of books wrapped and 

strapped to their back, most likely 200 lbs!

Whew.

My husband and my Dad worked on re-anchoring all the bookcases

today and we cleaned them after that.

They look great in there!

*

We are doing lots of cleaning at the new place

and hope to do a home depot run sometime soon.

*

Tomorrow God willing a packer is coming to

pack up our kitchen and dining room;

we have moved much ourselves also as we need stuff

to use at our new home.

*

Everyone in our new neighbourhood is so friendly!

(Sadly we have not had this where we've been living)...

Our new neighbours seem really good

and we are really hopeful.

*

I hope to pack the rest of our stuff other than the

kitchen/dining area so that on this coming DV 

long holiday weekend Mr. Husband and I can

spend some nice time with my parents and 

set up our new library and get rid of the boxes, etc.

*

Our final move is in one week.

By then the rest of our new home should be painted and 

hopefully some other things done also.

*

I am not able to keep up on blogs as much

right now, FYI, as things are so busy.

*

What I told my Grandma

{from a few weeks back*}

At home in my kitchen, calling my Grandma and leaving 

a message on her answering machine...

Hi Grandma, It's Elizabeth... well... [Mr. Husband] and I are going to 

see a condo tomorrow that we both like,

can you pray for us?

A few days later... in my kitchen again... calling and leaving a message...

Hi Grandma, we found out yesterday that our landlord is selling his condo

and we don't want to buy it...

we've been told that we will have a letter from the lawyer soon...

this place will sell fast... so we are seeing the condo we liked 

again tomorrow morning,

can you pray for us about that?

We're thinking of putting in an offer.

A day later, my Grandma is a wonderful busy lady, I left a message again...

Hi Grandma, so we are under contract and just waiting 

for a few things to work out,

it's hard to wait, our landlord's coming with his realtor,

we know it will be any day that we can get our 60 days notice...

keep praying for us... 

*

Finally I called and she answered.

I told her more about the condo we want to buy,

about the waiting for answers we need,

about wanting attorney review over so no one else can put in an offer,

about how the condo we want has great light, is spacious,

near friends, in the town close to our local church

and is beautiful.

Only missing a garden and kitchen window

but really has everything we need,

we would be so happy there...

A week or so later I got hold of her again,

and realized I forgot to tell her that we were finally done with attorney review,

just waiting for the house inspection.

We were not worried, I told her, it's a fairly new building,

should not have many problems...

We were right, there were no real problems on home inspection...
*

I am choosing paint chips and doing floor designs for 

furniture placement and figuring out what we need...

* 

We got our 60 days notice of needing to move 

night before we finished attorney review.

*

We hope to close in early May

and move in late May.

*

Pray for us!

Mr. Husband and I are going to own a home together,

one that I saw how quickly God gave us,

introducing us to our new home

just a day before we would get word that we would have to

leave our first lovely home...

that Mr. Husband has been renting for over two years.

*

It's a huge transition to us,

this move to a nearby town, another bed-sitting community of NYC in 

New Jersey.... closer to friends, church and whatever comes next.

*

Thank God that we 

found more than what we could of hoped for, 

just where we were hoping to land.

*

*this all took place unbelievably in the space of three weeks time.
We are told that this is normal for where we live!
