We made it!

We went to presanctified!
I was so glad ~ it is one of my favourite services!

While we were there it started storming
with thunder, lightening and hard rain.
I was praying for my Cleo Cat
as it can scare her a bit...

One of my tulip photos.
So far tulips are my favourite to photograph at home...

I am so thankful for this liturgy!
I am almost done reading the Saint Luke book...
it's been a real blessing to me...
reading about the end of his life,
how he was blind and served at the Altar and
had all the prayers memorized
and the healing miracles he did
and how greatly he loved everyone,
it is so beautiful and encouraging.

God is magnified in His Saints
and His love is poured out through them!

Thursday 2nd week of Lent

 My job keeps getting
better and better.
It is such a relief...
Now that I am a few days into it,
I am glad for it;
I hope it continues to go well.
I am glad also that it is
a temporary job
and that I am gearing up for
a move later this year.
Orthoman and I are still figuring out
when we are doing what.

Wanted to mention this book
merely because I wanted record of it.
A Grace Disguised: How the soul grows through loss
I have not read this newer version
but when the woman who was my first
(and only officially considered)
spiritual mother
(I saw how she was this years after I lost her)
died and I was in the middle of
one of my greatest times of devestating grief
I found this book in my
University Library
and it really helped me.
Not because I remember it giving me advice
but reading the story of another's loss
and how he remained a Christian
and how he suffered through it
was of great help.
Someday I would like to get a copy of this...

Lent is a hard time for many
or for all of us.
This past weekend was especially hard for me;
I feel like I am in the calm in the middle of a storm
and I wish I could stay in the calm
forever.
*
I keep thinking of the monastics I know
and how they have really grown
spiritually
and have really deepened in
prayer and in remaining calm and at peace.
I have a long way to go
but knowing that others have gone
this way before
gives me hope.

Wednesday, Cloud, Sun and Breeze

A few inquiries about Cleo,

so I thought I should report back...

*

Cleo seems happy
(sitting at the back of my chair right now,

close by to me).

I brushed her thoroughly this morning in an effort

to help her with the hair shedding / hair ball issue

but she still spat one out later this morning

and the same non-clear residue came with it.

So I don't know what is bothering her stomach.

She is eating, drinking and acting fairly normal.

I am limiting her dairy

(she asks for it and it is usually the one thing

I will give her; she also asks for everything else,

from my Peanut Butter and Raspberry Jam sandwiches to

the more understandable summer tuna salad with grapes).

*

I had switched her food a few months ago

as the other food does not seem to be made anymore;

I can't really afford anything fancy

but am avoiding the cheapest of the cheap food,

as I don't trust the almost dollar store priced cat food...

*

I am trying to be more diligent about housekeeping

in case she is nibbling at something unseen to me

but not to her...

*

Well.

Other than this I am trying to balance both

my contract job and the fact that I have

interview preparation to do for next week.

It's all a bit overwhelming.

But God is with us in the midst of it.

To Him I am seeking to look to

instead of the waves...
