Enjoying the leftover tea sandwiches from Tea and Sympathy. 🫶
So I had an errand in NYC and along with this, I completed returning some things I bought that I realized I didn't need or truly even want. I got my money back for most because I had not taken the things out or removed price stickers and had receipt. The other two things I got store credit for. I am going to keep that until at least next year. I have never returned things before. It was a new experience and I think a humbling one.
I am sharing it here because I think it's God work to help me heal. Impulse shopping or shopping therapy as many call it doesn't solve the problem at hand. For me it was as about grief mostly and to get through grief you have to go through it. And I have lots of nice things.
Have I deeply changed about this suddenly? No. I still love shopping and dishes. But this experience was still very good for me.
And I have been getting rid of emails (such as thrift books) that advertise things I like to buy.
So I still want more books? Yes. I have not suddenly stopped that either. But it was still good to get rid of emails that advertise things to buy.
I slept OK but I am going through some changes and adjustments that include loss.
It is a beautiful day today. And I am learning some things that are really good.
May God help us. 🙏
