Woosh ~ the weekend ~ and now the holiday Monday!

We came back after liturgy and brunch with dear friends

to a beautiful sight!

My Dad had finished the painting on Saturday night!

I love this window and this so cheery yellow!!!

Trim and new crown moulding in kitchen is next...

Cleo's going to love running down this...  

It looks so much better.

We really want to keep the light and brightness of this place,

so we are doing more minimal window treatments...

some pretty lace valances and really good blinds to pull down

when we need it dark :)

My Mom and Dad were still out at their church and

exploring where they used to live

when we came to see what my Dad had accomplished!

It was a lovely Sunday...

I was really tired but some really good food at a local diner

and the post liturgical nap did help a lot.

It's been so nice to have my parents here....

My Mom is Mothering our new place by cleaning it all...

My Dad is doing his beautiful painting and has installed 

new white wood closet doors, fixed things and in general

is making our place much better.

*

Mr. Husband and I still have more to pack today 

but are hopeful to wrap it up soon!

It's so hard to leave our beautiful new home nightly to 

go back to our more chaotic in-packing-mess home

but two more sleeps and we will be in the new place,

God willing!

Move DV Wednesday and we have requested the same

crew for the move...

*

I am so thankful for everyone's prayers!

It's an exciting but tiring time... 

Woosh ~ Day 4 ~ Coming Along!

Mr. Husband at work yesterday

and I was home with the packer

(the kitchen and dinning room are now packed

and I did 10 to 15+ boxes myself of other things),

I figured my Dad would be able to do both bathrooms

since we would not be there to get in his way as much! 

And I was right!

We went over to our new place before dinner

and my Mom went with me to see the great work Dad did...

It looks really great and goes really well

with the woodlawn blue of the master bedroom and 

chapel/library/guest bedroom!

Then my Mom said,

Dad did something else too!

The office is beautifully painted!

My Dad helped us pick the colours in the end...

we picked various paint chips and knew we

wanted a blue and a cream...

the three colour are all in the historic collection,

meaning that they are colours that have been used 

in centuries past... they are just perfect for us!

I had wanted a warm cream that has a hint of 

the shades of red/orange instead of a cream/yellow 

that would be more on the 'green' side.

It's just what I had hoped it would be!

This colour will also be in our hallway and

Great Room area (kitchen, dining, living room)...

Mr. Husband had wedgewood gray in his house 

that he sold the fall that we were dating and I had insisted

that we consider this colour for the bathrooms

since he mentioned it so many times.

Then my Dad said we should have the woodlawn blue

as it will go better than the blue I had picked 

and I am so glad we went with this! 

It looks great and the colours are really loved

by Mr. Husband too.

I was telling the packer about how Mr. Husband and I met

and he said, it was meant to be and so today

I told Mr. Husband that see, it was meant to be,

as we even like the same paint colours... :)

DV Mr. Husband's parents will come towards the end of June

and will finish the projects for the new home!

My parents will stay to do more yet as well

and it is just a really special time that way.

It's a tiring time but also a time of new starts and 

of thankfulness and family.

Irony... :)... and more on the day and paint colours

On the day I post my thoughts on

prayer and silence,

I am listening continuously to my Ottawa's church CD

while the packer and I pack up the house!

We should have most of it packed by the end of the day...

just some things in the office will be left!

To quickly answer Paula's question...

the woodlawn blue 

does have grey in it and depending on the light and

the angle of a computer screen,

it would look more hard and grey; 

it is actually so many things, it's a very lovely colour;

it has a tint of a blue-green, like an opal, it's a lovely blue 

but it does indeed have grey in it; my Dad and I discussed that

and when it was wet it looked very grey!

The bathrooms DV will actually have wedgewood grey

which also is a blue-green with grey...

Well, I've packed at least 10 more boxes and the packer

has done a good number also, at least 10 by now...

lots of dishes!

Pictures So Far

Everyone who has read my blog for a while, knows that I love my Cat Cleo. She is my faithful, cute, comforting little companion and adds a lot of cheer and delight to my life.

My apartment, thanks to a very generous and helpful friend, is now 80% box free! However, until I get my IKEA furniture (much will have to wait until the new year as it can only be ordered and I am leaving for Christmas in 2 weeks so it may not get here in time), my apartment will not be fully picture blog worthy. I would rather show it off when it is done, etc.

But to show a little of my best apartment ever... here are pictures of Cleo in my new place:

The love of windows and birds! I decided early on that I would not worry about Cleo being on my desk. She loves windows...

I am pleased with the light blue paint. I am still adjusting to having a different place though. Apparently it takes time!

This is in the living room by the sliding door. I love the gold chair - it was my Dad's chair when I was a child and we placed "spaceship" with the navy buttons during the day when he was at work. Cleo also loves this chair. She is often near by when I blog! You can also see a bit of the green paint that I chose.

It is going to take a while for my new place to be fully set up, but at least I have a good start.
