By God's mercy on Monday

I packed 6 of these boxes full of books.

I recently got L'Engle's cute children's book

the other dog at the Strand in NYC... 

these are all safely packed now... 

Packing, Mess, Cleo, Beauty and Love

Love.

My Aunt H. gave me this paper box when I was a kid.

I saved it and many of the papers.

They are all used now;

Mr. Husband wrote me many notes and cute poems.

They make me feel really loved.

I put them all back in the box today so they can be packed.

Mess.

We have boxes to be boxed,

boxes packed, 

boxes everywhere...

Cleo apparently wants to be packed too :)

She's currently happily ensconced in this box,

in the sunshine, 

bathing.

That's one way to not look at the mess of boxes... :)

Changes, always changes

I remember when my cousin, her son and my Aunt,

her mother, drove me down to NJ

and we were at some small town diner in 

countryside of New York 

and the sensible young son got 

chicken strips

while I ordered sweet potato fries. 

Now for chicken strips in Canada the dip of choice

is plum sauce. 

And for sweet potato fries, a cranberry mayo.

So we asked for both condiments and the woman

serving us was like,

you're all not from around here are you?

as she had never heard of such luxuries ( :) ).

Well, I have yet to find the mayo

but did find a fairly similar plum sauce:

for shoprite and it is made in Canada.

Need I saw more? :)

Well about the changes.

We were going to have packing help

and boxes delivered.

Our packer has since poor guy

dislocated his shoulder

so Mr. Husband and I are packing away today,

ordered not as healthy food as seen above

(Domino's with what we call mordor chicken

with mango habanero sauce (YAY!))

and we are planning on going out to Home Depot

to buy boxes...

Prayers Requested!

Many hours in a day

  

Whew.
Long but good day.
Friend's niece is going to get furniture
this Friday -- and dishes.
Can you believe I am giving away my
IKEA dishes?
Yep.
I am.
I am learning to de-clutter...
and Orthoman agreed that we can get new dishes
at some point
if the need is there...

I packed my special icon shelf of
treasures that will go in my carry-on suitcase
and some of my icons.
I am going to bring a few family pictures
as well my next trip.

I packed up half of my beloved
Orthodox book collection.
(The shelf unit is being handed over
this Friday).
*
I still need to empty my dresser and my desk.
Giving those away too.
It's actually WONDERFUL as now
I will have spaces for boxes to go because
the furniture will be gone.
I see this as a huge mercy of God.
Moving to this smaller space
and having, well, really...
too much stuff for this size apartment
was incredibly overwhelming,
to the point of feeling emotional pain.

So this is really good.
I am working day and night...
since I worked a full 8 hour day today at work
as well as packing and talking to my
beloved Orthoman.
*
The temps at work have been from hot to cold
in the building
and I feel again like I could be on the verge
of illness.
This often happens to me with weather changes.
The temp on Monday in that building
lead to over 500 complaints in one day.
So I am not exaggerating.
So:
here's to hoping that I sleep well and don't get sick.
I fly this coming Wednesday early evening.
My weekend is overflowing with events.
Asking your prayers.
Thanking God for His mercy.

Loving Autumn

There was sunshine again today.

I remembered how much I used to love walking to work on a sunny morning.

That will be good again, one day..

I am packing up my living / dining room!

I will not be making a cake in this pan until after I move...

Today a new friend helped me pack -

friends are such a blessing!

Progress

A good friend helped me pack most of my books today. I feel encouraged. I also saw my apartment unit today and have made my final decision on paint colours. By doing a lot of the packing now, I hope to be fully ready to move in a few weeks.

I am thankful.

This Day is Good

Today my parents have their 34th wedding anniversary. I talked with my Mother on the phone. I am blessed to have such good God-fearing parents.

Various church members who have had severe health struggles were back in church today. This was a real blessing.

My kitchen is full of things and empty boxes. I am going to try to calm some of the chaos today.

Current Life Pictures

The view when walking to church; I can walk to my church in about 20 minutes or so.

If you had told me over ten years ago that I would live in the middle of a small city in Canada, in an apartment, I would of found you oddly suspect!

I like it though! I do not need a car, can walk to work and church and to the grocery store. There are many good restaurants and a pretty good bus system.

The leaves are turning!

About the picture below... a good friend helped me move boxes today. Now I just have to fill these boxes.

Like my Holly Hobbie plates? When a friend who had not seen me in over ten years, saw these plates, she felt they were more like the person she knew me to be, back then. Holly Hobbie plates, etc, originated from a woman in New England. Though I was raised in Michigan, New England is a big part of me. This makes Ottawa a good fit for me as well.
