Feathering Our Nest

As I said in a previous blog post,
some of my family from Canada came and
we visited,
dined,
saw NYC again and
also found some great baskets for my
home with Mr. Husband!

We reorganized the bookcases here and
my cousin did the top with the books
and three baskets!
These baskets are to hold my knitting and
other projects!

We got a large matching hamper that holds
lots of my yarn and finished items
that are future gifts!
Now I do not have knitting/yarn/project clutter!
*
Am so excited also to have our prayer corner
finally finished!

My cousin put up the Cross in the middle
our prayer corner and the Rusnyk to my specifications!
It has been put up with three pins.
*
It is such a beautiful corner now!
The Rusnyk and Cross are both wedding gifts and
this Rusnyk is the one that Mr. Husband and I were
hand-tied with and now they adorn our
wedding icons.
I could not be happier with the improvements to our living room!

Homemaking and beauty in our home

One of the rushnyks that we used
in our wedding
was blue and white;
it is the one we stood on before the table where
our crowns and the Gospel book were place on.
This past weekend I put this rushnyk one on our
buffet by the window.

I just love it!
And I love how we can celebrate the feasts in our homes
in visual ways...
icons, change of linens, table clothes.

St. John of Shanghai and Sans Francisco
and St. Phanourios.
Both very important Saints for
Mr. Husband and I.

It is a blessing to have this rushnyk out and
have reminders of our wedding.
*
It is such a blessing that the wedding ceremony is a
sacrament and that in Christ
the man and woman are united in Christ
through this sacrament.
*
Mr. Husband and I will God-willing
be at two local weddings this summer.
*
I am so glad that summer is here!
