Well then, fatigue was back with a vengeance today :(
So I rested and read, had hot bath, we went out to eat
with a dear local friend and her daughter,
My Husband made me a wonderful smoothie today!
Best ever! Recipe: raspberry, blueberry, fresh spinach,
2/3 banana, spoon of cocoa, shredded coconut, flax seed, cinnamon,
a good dollop of maple syrup + yogurt/almond milk/your choice liquid.
As good as an ice cream cone!

I am thinking a lot this days about rest and depletion/burn out,
I am very aware that I am quite depleted at present...
my sense is that this does not mean
'just nap all the time' but instead figure out what brings
restoration and rest, physically and inwardly.

For sure this week, as I recover from my illness that is still with me,
that I need actual rest (naps) but I think it also will be the need
to read books that bring rest (Elizabeth Goudge is one of these authors),
sewing again (I hope!) and other creative things.

And so it goes.
But lots to be thankful for, including this new book
that I have already begun and so far am enjoying very much!

Yes, rest and recuperation is more than just naps. I find knitting restorative.
May God restore your strength and give you peace!
I agree with you, it isnt always 'rest' that one needs, more a refill of spiritual and emotional energy.
What a very beautiful stargazer lily you have there! I'm sorry you are suffering through illness and burnout right now . . . do take good care of yourself and get rest, and yes, read Elizabeth Goudge. Her stories can be like a restorative balm to us at times.
All prayers for strength and health and peace in Christ.
