Mr. Husband and I went to visit dear friends!
I did a lot of car knitting, all dish or bath cloths!
A quick and easy gift is to have
new nice hotel soaps with some handmade bath/wash cloths,
a bag and you're done!
*
I've been reading some lovely things...
all 3 from the daughter of the Matushka who passed away about a year ago.
*
There are so many recipes I want to try!
These cookbooks are all hardcover and are such enjoyable reading!
I have ordered some mylar dust jackets and look forward to
making these cookbooks usable and with protected dust jackets!
*
I find that I am drawn to all the creative arts,
culinary arts, knitting, quilting...
so much joy to be had.
I am dreaming of serving more meals to others!
*
And of knitted things for Christmas gifts!
My stash is slowly growing!

What are you reading and creating?

Enjoy your cookbooks!
I had to peek at your dishcloths. I knit dishcloths and that's the extent of my knitting so far. I love them. They do make great gifts and they are my personal favorite to use when it comes to dishcloths.
I'm in the throes of dishcloth making too...our pile had become quite woebegone. I'm okay with it though, as the pattern is easy and doesn't require much thought, which is important after you've been working a much harder pattern.
What a lovely cookbook stash!
what a great gift idea! i enjoy cookbooks too!
What treasures those cookbooks are! Enjoy learning new techniques and trying new recipes! :) My own dishcloth/washcloth stash is running low...but I've got so many projects on the needles right now, including Christmas and b-day gifts! Btw, thanks for saying hello after my extended blog absence. :) It's nice to be back...

That's a pretty cotton you found for the dishcloths.
I love my Julia Child book. I have the new edition, lucky you getting an older one. I've got the Fannie Farmer one too but haven't used it. I just love reading them :)
I did that for a lot of gifts last year and they were such a hit. And the cloths eventually wear out so you can do it again!
I love cookbooks! Thanks for sharing.
I too love all the creative arts! So much so that I sometimes lament I will not live long enough to do "everything."
I love to knit dishcloths on road trips! And who wouldn't want some nice fresh-smelling soap and a handmade cloth? I love how you put your gifts together in cellophane bags. So cute! *hugs* :)
I like to keep lots of dishcloths on hand too. You made up some nice little gift bags. I'm visiting from Yarn Along

Great great books! If you get a chance, read Julia Child's My Life in France. It tells the story behind Mastering the Art of French Cooking and it is one of my very favorite autobiographies.
Very nice washcloths/dishcloths!
I love old cookbooks, too. I like to look for them in secondhand book shops, but there aren't very many of THOSE anymore.
I love the home arts as well. Great post!
The bath cloths that you gave are so beautiful! I can't wait to use them!
Thanks everyone!!!
Mamabird Emma, so glad you love yours! :)
Although I've never made cloths myself, I've loved the few that were given to me. You know, that might be a good project to take on some weekend this winter?
You can't beat perusing through an old cookbook eh? Sometimes they are full of hidden gems, sometimes you just wondering what people were thinking :)
love the presents you packaged with the cloths, so so so lovely and thoughtful!! I love creative arts and I inherited my love from my mom who was quite crafty.
Those cookbooks look fascinating!
Oh, I love old cookbooks. I have a little collection and I like to sit down and read them like novels.
Those cookbooks look great! And please tell me I'll soon be knitting away the time as we travel in the car. I've just begun to learn and it's so hard. And slow. I am a crocheter and I can crochet like the wind. And now I'm questioning why I ever thought trying to knit was a good idea. And then I see your cloths and I'm inspired again to not give up. Tonight, anyway.
Becki, of course you will be knitting well, practice makes perfect! but crochet work is also very beautiful!!!!
