I know this to be true. cerebrally. but how to counsel friends who 'feel' that God has abandoned them? Mother Theresa speaks of how she had lost the sense of the presence of God in her life many many years ago, up until her repose, I believe. And yet she carried on. That takes indomitable faith, and I pray that I am never that strong to be charged with such a burden. (ironic? cowardly? maybe)
