Prayers, swimming, baths,
lunch,
Lunch included discussions of the ethics of war
(Munchkin wanted to know if Knights sinned by going to war),
the Star Spangled Banner and the war of 1812.
then we had rest time and then...
singing many years for early name's day celebration,
a gift loved, many games of Chess and Trouble.
Vespers, Happy Face Pancake (again!), a game of Chess
that Munchkin won (we played 'Calvin ball' at the end,
as we did not have time before we needed to do bedtime,
and then the Munchkin was introduced to Calvin and Hobbes,
which he now loves and wants to read!)
Then reading two books on St. Nicolas, reading the parables of the
the Lost Coin and Prodigal Son and night prayers and sleep.
A beautiful wonderful day
that I thank God for.
Ah...Calvin and Hobbs, great stuff. Later, you'll have to introduce him to the Far Side. Sounds like you're having a lovely time.
ReplyDeleteMy son looooves Calvin and Hobbes. He has read most of the book collections, I think. How old is Munchkin? My son, age 10, loves comics and graphic novels. Munchkin might be interested in the "Bone" series of graphic novels for kids.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day! My kids brought their four Calvin and Hobbes books on vacation and have read them multiple times this trip.

ReplyDeleteThese pictures bring back good memories. Calvin and Hobbes were favorites of my boys, too. And what a cute pancake. Delicious looking, too! It sounds (and looks) like you're making great memories for the Munchkin (and you!). :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was a fun and lovely day with Munchkin. Cute pancake! So clever you could create that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Zena, we took him to a diner where they do the pancake! :)
