ReplyDeleteHave put the Strand on my list for NYC :)
ReplyDeleteSophia started reading Mrs. Piggle Wiggle last week:). I didn't know there was another one! I would like to read some more L'Engle-have you read this one yet? I haven't read "The Valley of Song ". Somehow I missed it when I went on my Goudge binge:).
ReplyDeleteAmy, I have not finished that L'Engle yet! the valley of the song is not as well known; I still need to read it! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Pokey Little Puppy was one of my favorite books when I was very young! I recently found a copy at Goodwill. Hope your goddaughter loves it as much as I did. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth! I was googling images for The Valley of Song and your post came up; I must have missed it when you posted - wasn't blogging in March. But I have to say you are so right about that being the find of the day!! It is the one book of hers I've been wanting for the longest time (I've got most of them already) but always way too expensive! I finally found a copy on line two weeks ago whose price, while expensive, I could justify paying and it arrived yesterday. I'm so excited to have it - it's the same edition as yours, with the little golden ship on the front cover. Hoping to savor it and make it last. I hope you enjoy your copy. You truly got a wonderful bargain there. In her autobiography, Elizabeth Goudge says this story is one of her personal favorites. And it is not easy to find.
