We finally got a shelf for above the kitchen
sink a few weeks back...
The bare wood in front will be stained at a later
time...for now I am just glad to get this up
and to have my beloved
icon of the Theotokos, Virgin of Vladimir,
up in my kitchen...
such a sweet and most-loved icon!
This is what my kitchen looks too many times
during the week...
it's a constant effort to keep things from being cluttered!
So much of our lives is full of the routines
of clutter / cleaning / trying-to-keep-clutter-from-happening
and clutter again...
*
At least God and the Mother of God are with us
no matter what our kitchens look like...
My kitchen table is the same. One end is for eating/school the other is my sewing area, so it's very easy for 'things' to take over.
ReplyDeleteI ♥ the blue and white pitcher and sugar....and also bright red tea kettle! Our refrigerator is also covered in magnets and a calendar and pictures. I would like to clean it off, but when we did to wipe it down with the Mr. Clean magic erasers & I commented on how nice it looks empty, they disagreed with me and put everything back on!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure we have the same bowls! How fun/funny!
ReplyDeleteMaureen,
ReplyDeleteyou mean the blue and white one on the shelf? It's a lovely one; the only one we have of that kind...
I really love seeing it there on my shelf about the sink!! :) I love beauty in dishes!!
Elizabeth,
DeleteI think I recognize that pattern, it's Blue Onion by Wedgwood. I've seen it at replacements.com I too love beauty in dishes, I've got more China patterns than a single person has any right to, but...they're soooo pretty!! (I really have trouble with that whole not coveting thing)
I love the idea of the shelf! :D
ReplyDelete...but the operative word is always "clutter", isn't it? :D
ReplyDeleteYes, God does not judge us for that. :)
Yes, the one above the sink. I have four soup bowls and a similar pattern for plates. They're so lovely.

ReplyDeleteMaureen, neat!!!
ReplyDeleteNancy, it says Wedgwood blue heritage pattern... :) I know about replacements.com too... just today a friend was asking me how many sugars and creamers I have :) I LOVE dishes!!!
I'll have to troll replacements.com for Blue Heritage, but my mom has ordered me not purchase any more china, crystal or vintage glassware (but I scored some great Anchor Hocking glassware a few weeks ago) Is there a self - help group for people like me? (Hi, I'm Nancy and I'm a dishaholic)
DeleteNancy, LoL... :) I love dishes too! You know you should have a blog so you can show pictures of your dishes... :)))
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should start a blog, I could call it "Hoarding - Buried Alive in china and glassware (with apologies to TLC)" I do have some pretty dishes : ) Do other readers want to share in the effects of this addiction? I'll be the dealer
DeleteNancy, You SHOULD start a blog and I want to be one of the first to see it!!! all those dishes, oh la la and I want to see them!!!
