PEI, dishcloths and PEI pottery yarn-bowl for this weeks Yarn Along

Thursday last found Mr. Husband and I in PEI.
{We returned yesterday home in late morning.}

We stayed at a lovely bed and breakfast.

The countryside was so beautiful;
we went to Cavendish one day and
I took this picture along the way.
It was such a lovely lovely time that it is going
to take many blog posts to do it justice.
*
I have some busy social time in the next days,
being that it is still summer, so
we will see what I am able to share!

I got this pottery yarn bowl at the
Artisan shop at the 'Avonlea' which
is a created village with some of the buildings that
author Lucy Maud Montgomery was at.
The bowl is made by a potter in Eastern PEI.
Can you see that it says 'Yarn'? :)
*
 It was a gift, the bowl, from Mr. Husband for
my patron Saints day
(I have two Saints and the first is St. Irene of Chrysovalantou)...
and I did not realize until returning home that
last Friday marked 10 years for me in the Orthodox church;
I was chrismated on August 8 which in 2004 was on a Sunday.
I was then, 10 years later, appropriately at a lovely Lebanese restaurant
with one of my oldest Orthodox friends who
I knew from years ago when I was in London Ontario
at library school.
*
I finished my 'surprise knitting' which was
given to a dear friend on Saturday August 9th,
so just this past Saturday, on her wedding day.
So I am not yet showing this
as she is now on her honeymoon and has not yet
opened that gift.
*
So coming soon to a yarn along near year you :)
*
I have finished various dish clothes
(latest one in the yarn bowl above)
and I am re-reading Anne of Green Gables,
of course...
*
What are you reading and creating?
Do join us!

  1. Congratulations on 10 years! What a beautiful anniversary.

    We spent part of our honeymoon on PEI! We stayed at a small hotel near the Avonlea but did not go there ... we did visit Green Gables however. :) It is such a beautiful, beautiful place ... I hope we can go back again someday.

  8. Happy anniversary!

    I can't believe you were in PEI and didn't just hop over to us in Newfoundland... next time!

    Fr. John and I went to PEI for our honeymoon and my Mum and I were there last year during Great Lent. We loved attending services at the Orthodox church there!

  10. Happy anniversary! I am also knitting washcloths! Our son graduated and moved to northern Maine to take a job at the University of Maine in Presque Isle, Maine. He needs to set up housekeeping...so I have started knitting again. I am also knitting him a few warm scarves!
