I am writing on behalf of my beloved husband for his father Francis.
Francis has surgery on his ear this coming Friday, December 13th.
Francis has had, since August at least,
an ear infection that has been resistant to all treatment.
After many doctors and specialists, he is going to have surgery.
The infection has gotten into the bones and his ear drum has a hole in it.
All this has been very painful and has contributed to more hearing loss,
which was already fairly significant.
My father in law's surgery, from my perspective, seems fairly intense surgery ~
Francis emailed the family that the doctor/surgeon said
"it could take up to 4 hours to do the surgery
as he has to remove the infection on the inner ear bones
as well as repair the damaged ear drum.
This will be a 24 hour stay in the university hospital if all goes according to plan."
Talking to Mr. Husband's Mom today,
it sounds like the surgery would be at least 3 hours, up to 4.
Mr. Husband's and I talked to his father in the last few days
and he is also concerned that his other ear
may be showing signs of infection as well.
We ask your prayers for Mr. Husband's and I's dear father/father-in-law Francis!
My goodness, how awful! I hope the surgery is successful and he doesn't experience much pain. :( Prayers!
