I did not know your blog before - you are welcome here - I just read your whole blog and it is a delight - thank you for your writings. I agree with you in what you say. What I was trying to say in this book review is that I am still shocked and saddened (if that is the part you are writing about, my lament about Luke Barr's writing of his great aunt's life decisions) how people do not register the implications of their life and the overall societal destruction of the past 70+ years because of choices involving sexuality, divorce and other things. It's still astounding that they just don't know; it's not that I can say I am better or condemn them but that it is sad, so many artists, so many people, living lives that are destroying society and their personal worlds without understanding what they are doing or what they are missing.... elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00962587884124992942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18568699.post-9588573215068259792017-02-26T07:58:39.220-05:002017-02-26T07:58:39.220-05:00It's deeply Christian Orthodox mentality to ac...It's deeply Christian Orthodox mentality to accept others and their opininions without trying to change them and without feeling the need to change your beleifs to fit in.Angiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00535328486446161150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18568699.post-72849200581629196182017-02-25T15:51:35.658-05:002017-02-25T15:51:35.658-05:00Wow, this was quite a post. I enjoy looking through cookbooks although I have learned to check them out from the library now as I rarely use more than a couple of recipes out of any one book. All these books sound like they would be lovely books to enjoy by the fire on a rainy day. Blessings to you Elizabeth.Gloriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04696267700699612617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18568699.post-68305776252049466852017-02-24T06:22:34.377-05:002017-02-24T06:22:34.377-05:00Wonderful, thoughtful book reviews, Elizabeth--ver...Wonderful, thoughtful book reviews, Elizabeth--very much enjoyed this! I have both volumes of Mastering the Art of French Cooking on my cookbook shelf. They are great reference books. I rarely actually cook from the recipes though, as so many of them require a great deal of time, and, sometimes, ingredients I'm not able to get locally. I make Julia Child's basci recipe for quiche--that is my go to quiche recipe. :) gOD Bless you & yours as we begin the Lenten journey soon!
